| The Pirin and Rila mountains are the highest mountains in Southern Central
Europe with summits reaching almost 3000m. Wilderness, forests, lakes,
monasteries, old towns and villages, where old local traditions have survived
to the present day, are
linked by thousands of kilometers of good paths served with mountain lodges. On
our treks we generally use the best hotels - four star, offering high quality
accommodation, good foods and a variety of facilities including indoor swimming
pools, saunas etc. In the mountains simple cabanas provide basic but pleasant
accommodation. Bulgaria also has several world class ski resorts, Borovets is ideal for the
beginner while Bansko is a magnificently improved resort for the powder and
