| Kamchatka is a very unique and beautiful area of the world. It is very remote,
the flight from Moscow to Petropavlovsk takes almost 9 hours, once you are in
Kamchatka the travel infrastructure is minimal and many areas are only
conveniently reached by helicopter. Possibly the best known area is the
Kronotsky National Park, home to the Uzon Crater and Geyser Valley. Here also
are found several live volcanoes, hot springs and abundant wildlife. Further
north lie the highest volcanoes of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The highest,
Klyuchevskaya Sopka, is not technically difficult but an ice axe, crampons and
ropes are required plus the weather can be extreme, making the ascent a serious
proposition. Throughout the peninsula there are numerous active volcanoes many
of which offer reasonable ascent routes. Camping by hot springs, the total
wilderness encountered, tundra and forested pacific coastal belt all create a
magical environment. We offer several scheduled trips and are in an excellent position to arrange
private trips at any time of year. Trip Dossiers Bookings Map-Guidebook Shop Contact EWP
