| Hiking in Tanzania is possible all the year round and we offer trips year round. Longer hiking trips include Kilimanjaro This is one of the most popular mountain hikes in Africa - fit individuals who have never climbed or walked in mountains before can tackle the summit. There are several routes and the ascent takes a minimum of 5 days. Mount Meru this is a high summit located in a beautiful national park which offers excellent training for the ascent of Kilimanjaro. Lengai The sacred mountain of the Masai is one of the tougher mountain hikes. If lucky you will see red-hot lava bubbling up - best done in one long day. Crater Highlands A fine mountain hike starting in the cool Ngorongoro Crater highlands, various options are avaliable. Usambara Mountains The partly forested and partly cultivated Usumbara mountains provide a variety of day walks in a pleasant setting. Many short excursions are available, some based at game lodges or camps such as Ikoma Camp offer game viewing opportunities on foot. The forests at the base of Kilimanjaro offer numerous walks such as to the waterfalls near Marangu or the paddy fields and bird and monkey rich forests near Moshi. All our trips in Tanzania adhere to our Responsible Travel and Ecotourism policies. ![]() Trip Dossiers Bookings Map-Guidebook Shop Contact EWP | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
